Madurodam is a miniature city between Scheveningen and The Hague, Netherlands.
This major Dutch tourist attraction was built in 1952 and has been visited by tens of millions of visitors since then. The minituare city of Madurodam was named after George Maduro, a student from Cura?ao who died at Dachau concentration camp in 1945. Mr. Maduro’s parents donated the money to start the Madurodam project.
Madurodam is a historically justified reproduction of an average Dutch town with surroundings to a scale of 1:25. At night, the 45,000+ little lamps light up the little town. Illuminated trains traverse the landscape, the lighthouse casts its rotating beam in all directions and the illuminated news reader shows you the latest news.
